Headstones and footers may be installed by the monument companies or by the Township. Veteran's markers installed at no cost.
A lot may be sold, to the Township only, for the original price.
Sealed concrete or metal vaults for regular burials are acceptable.
2 cremations per burial space (4'x8') are permitted. 2 flat headstones 1'x2' may be placed side by side, or a 1'x3' or 1'x4' flat headstone with both names may be used.
A creamtion may be placed on a regular burial, using the same headstone set up as above.
The Sexton shall decide on all maters not covered by the rules.
If a non-resident is buried on a resident's lot, the non-resident's opening and closing fee applies. If the deceased was a former long time resident of Carlisle Township, (15 years or more) then the resident's fees will be applied.
Carlisle Township Cemetery Rules and Regulations
1. The cemeteries shall be for human burials only, and there will be no discrimination of race, color or creed.
2. No hunting, loitering or littering will be permitted. The cemeteries will be closed at sunset.
3. Costs of lot and the fee for opening and closing of graves shall be set by the trustees.
4. The number of lots sold to a township resident will be the decision of the trustees.
5. A cemetery lot shall be paid for in full before receiving the deed.
6. Decorations may be removed at the discretion of the Sexton.
7. No mausoleums or crypts shall be erected.
8. The monuments shall be made of marble, granite or metal. Monuments made of another material must be approved by the trustees.
9. The trustees reserve the right to correct any errors that involves burials in lots. Disinterments will be at the convenience of the Sexton.
10. The trustees and the Sexton are not responsible for persons walking in the cemetery, and injured due to uneven ground, beyond the normal maintenance.
11. The trustees and the Sexton are not responsible for damage to monuments beyond reasonable care.
All decisions made by the Carlisle Township Board of Trustees are final.
